LABEL MAKER

Page 94
LABEL MAKER can create address
labels or name tags on a Commodore
1515 or 1525 printer. Actually, this
program should work on any dot matrix
printer that has double-width
characters.
When LABEL MAKER is first run, the
screen shows how the label should be
lined up in your printer. You should
then adjust your printer to match the
diagrams. After this, you are asked
if you want your label printed in
upper/lower case. If you press any
key other than 'Y', then the program
will set the printer for upper case/
graphics.
Next, enter the information for the
labels. The label can contain up to
five lines of information. When
entering the information, a quotation
mark appears on each line. If you
want to enter such things as commas
then just cursor over the quotation
mark and enter your information. If
you don't want anything on a line,
simply press RETURN on that line. If
you want a line to be double-wide,
then the first character (after the
quotation mark) must be an up arrow
(^). The maximum number of characters
per line is 33. If the line is to
be double-width, then the maximum is
15. If you exceed this length limit,
the cursor will jump to the beginning
of the line when you press RETURN.
After entering your information, you
have the option of vertically
centering your label. This will
vertically center your information on
the label. Your label will then be
shown on the screen. Lines that are
to be double-width are printed in a
colored bar. At this point, you have
the option to edit your label.
After viewing and possibly
correcting your label, you must
specify how many to print. After this,
you can choose either left-justified
or centered labels. Generally,
address labels are left-justified and
name tags are centered.
At this point, the computer starts
printing labels. The computer will
print on the screen the number of the
label which it is currently printing.
If at any time you want to stop the
printing, press the RETURN key and the
printer will stop after the current
label (or until your printer buffer
empties if you have a printer buffer).
Pressing any key other than 'Y' will
cause the printer to continue
printing.
